I lived in Hawaii for over twenty years and at first it took a little adjustment to get used to the holidays when the weather was sunny and warm. But it didn't take long to get into the holiday spirit. There was the annual tree-lighting at Honolulu Hale, picking out a Christmas tree (shipped in, of course), seeing Santa arrive by canoe at Waikiki Beach, Christmas craft fairs all around town and more. The most fun for me was finding local Hawaiian gifts to send back to friends and family on the mainland.
